How to Enroll

Discovery Learning Center welcomes individuals who are interested in improving their English language skills in a supportive and multicultural learning environment. The school is committed to providing meaningful English language instruction and learning experiences for students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Students are enrolled without regard to race, national origin, creed, gender, or physical disability.

Requirements

Individuals enrolling in a DLC program must be at least 18 years of age or possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Prospective students should complete the Enrollment Agreement Form and submit it to the administrative office. A placement consultation may also be arranged to help determine the student’s English proficiency level and appropriate class placement based on the student’s learning goals and language needs.

DLC operates on a quarter system consisting of four 10-week sessions each year. While each session begins on a designated start date and classes generally begin together, some students may be permitted to join an existing class, depending on placement and availability.

Students are required to complete the Enrollment Agreement Form and submit the applicable non-refundable application fee prior to enrollment.

International students (F-1 status) are required to enroll in a full-time course of study consisting of 18 instructional hours per week. The following documents must also be submitted:

-A copy of passport

-A copy of visa if applicable

-A copy of I-94

-A copy of I-20s from the previous school (transfer students)

-A financial guarantee (e.g. a bank statement), verifying that the student has sufficient funds for all education and living expenses in the U.S. for one academic year

-If the bank statement is not under the student’s name, a financial affidavit of support form signed by a sponsor must also be submitted.

Applicants are then required to take a placement test to ensure proper placement into the program.
